This is being "reassessed" by TCM


I watched it a few days ago and saw no problem with it.

I don't mind this as long as the films aren't censored. I do think it's odd that, after several generations capable of looking at older films within their historical context, our culture suddenly feels as though we're too stupid to handle this basic intellectual negotiation.

TCM should continue showing films like these, without disclaimers or apologies. They should also continue showing Woody Allen films. "The Searchers" depicts things that actually happened in the 19th century West, and the way people at that time actually felt about them. It's a great movie. The charges against Allen were dismissed because of lack of evidence. TCM should never cave in to the demands of idiots.

They should also.show them totally uncut.

They can do whatever they want. I have this movie on blu-ray, and I don't have the TCM channel. So it doesn't affect me.
