Buddy Holly went to the movies and saw "The Searchers", and was inspired to write his great hit song. It was also the first song recorded by an English group, who later restyled themselves as "The Beatles".

I was wondering about that! I've just watched The Searchers, and wondered if Buddy Holly's song refrain was inspired by this character's use of the phrase, as the timing would have been right.
Chris, the character played by River Phoenix in Stand By Me, uses the phrase, in a film trying, quite successfully, to the the look and sounds of 1959.
