question about the rights

as we all know, this film was the only a.a.p. property not bought by Turner in 1986. does anyone know why this film remained with MGM/UA?

Spaulding00,

I'm very interested in obtaining a copy of the screenplay. Do you know if it's still available, and where? The screenplay Ray Bradbury turned in is purportedly the definitive version. However, according to people involved in the production (namely script clerk Angela Allen), John Huston made further changes to the Bradbury script as they were shooting the movie. Bradbury made a grievance to the Writers' Guild that challenged Huston's contribution. It seems Bradbury lost that one.

Does your script correspond exactly with the film or are there variations?

none of the two replies has anything to do with my question
