Did Bud Push Dorrie Down The Bleachers?

My VHS copy is a full screen version and I can barely make out his outstretched arm just after she starts tumbling down. It seems like too much of a coincidence that she could have done this unassisted, as it were, but she was very happy/hyper at the prospect of the impending elopement and could have stumbled on her own.

I think she was protected by all those petticoats girls wore in those days.

reply

Her reaction is weird, too. She tumbles about 15 feet and doesn't even say "Ow".

reply

There's a big surge in the music just as she begins to fall, suggesting that Bud shoved her, but if he did she didn't feel it or she would certainly have said so after she got up.

reply

she's tough.

today's special: shrimp ceviche!

reply

LOL...I know, right? How do you roll and tumble that far down and then just get up and dust yourself off and not say a word?

I Love....ME!!!!

reply

It's difficult to tell. I had to go back and check out that scene. It appears that he went to place his arm around her but then she took a tumble off of the bleachers.

reply

Bud looked pretty nonchalant when she fell.

Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!

reply

Non-chalent!!? He just stood there at first & only when Dorie started to get up, he hurried down the bleachers & acted concerned! He looked happy when it happened!!

reply

I think she fell accidentally, and that gave Bud the idea to murder her.
