The Venusian 'alien' looked like a supermarket cabbage!

But remember watching this phony science fiction classic in the late 1960s as a teenager in NJ in tv. But don't mark me wrong: despite how ridiculous the "alien" look, and the incredible cheap plot, it is fun to watch. Not to be taken seriously but I rather watch this than some Hollywood's more overrated films like "To Catch a Thief" or "Gigi", made by the same time.

I thought it looked like a juice reamer.

Cabbage? Cabbages are round. This creature looks more like an inverted carrot.

Are you sure you're not thinking instead of the SCTV spoof, "Zontar, the Thing From Venus"? In that episode, Zontar set out to conquer Earth, and used cabbages to ensnare humans. Everyone who was subjugated had a big cabbage leaf covering the nape of his neck, stuck under the collar. Conrad Bain's "twin brother", Hank Bain, was his human accomplice.

Yes, like the above poster said, it looks like a carrot. Its appearance is even referenced in Mystery Science Theater 3000.

I thought it looked a bit like a pickle, but with tentacles and sharp teeth.

Same here. I always called it 'The Cucumber Monster.'
