When was the psychiatrist replaced?

It's natural when we hear the psychiatrist explaining that it's good to be a pod to think that he's already been a pod from the beginning of the movie. But the arguments he gives while standing next to the pool table and in the cellar are all rational and could come from a human being. I think it's really more fun to think he's still human at that point: even from a rational human point of view , everything Miles and Jack have seen can be reasonably explained away. Now, are there clues in the movie that allow us to determine when Dr. Kauffman is replaced?

I think the only time we saw the real guy was when he was pulling out of the restaurant parking lot. When Miles calls him to the Bellicec house, he is already changed.

The creepy thing about the original version is that you really can't tell between the real person and the twin. They look and act rather normal. That was dropped in the later versions because the focus was changed from subversion to horror.
