How come "Robby emergency cancellation Archimedes" hasn't received the same iconic status as "Gort Klaatu barada nikto" ?

Your correct, of course. But the line in Forbidden Planet is practically unknown -- Google it!

I'll bet you a coffee that if FP is remade, they do more with the idea that Altaira can override Robby's orders.

Because the audience had to remember "Klatuu Barada Nikto" so no one forgot it.

i was re-reading some older dark horse comics the other night, and in an issue of aliens: colonial marines, one of the marines yells "emergency cancellation archimedes!" to the android liston.

It's "Gort, Klattu barada nikto"!

Without the comma, he would get back in the saucer and take a 2000 year vacation on that bug planet in Starship Troopers.

The translation is: "Gort, I've fallen, and I can't get up."

At least that is one button-maker came up with at a long-ago convention.
