When I first saw this movie as a kid in my middle teen years I thought Altair was quite hot. But watching the film now I really don't see the attraction. Anyone else find that or do you still think she was pretty hot?
But to be more serious her costumes. Were they too short for the time? Didn't the censor people kick up a fuss about her very short dress in this movie?

shareGuys, the girl's name is ALTAIRA -- not "Altair", which is the name of the (real) sun that planet Altair-4, where she and her father live, orbits.
Anne Francis -- the actress whose name nobody also seems to remember -- was in my opinion very distinctively good-looking and sexy, but of course such things are all a matter of personal taste. But I believe her outfits did cause a bit of a stir when the film came out in 1956.

I still think she's hot but I'm not a fan of her 50s style hairdos. That's why I think she's at her hottest when she emerges from the swimming pool with her hair all wet.
I can imagine her skimpy dress would have caused a fuss, but also the fact that she walks around barefoot through most of the movie as it evokes the whole image of the young barefoot girl/sexual object thing.
And with her wet hair she has star-eyes.

At 9 years old when the movie came out, I liked Anne Francis well enough, but I wasn't quite sure what she was for. Sort of my reaction to Penny in Sky King, and Princess Summerfall Winterspring in Howdy Doody. Not too much later I figured it out.
