I got the dvd today and its 2 dvds; i all the special features in disc2 and in disc 1 has both the original black and white version and color version ! they told me they got from amazon.com !

Hey where the trolly stop??

I just got the blu ray color disk from Netflix & the color looks great!

So far i have just watched with the commentary on and that was a blast. Ray & company where having a good time & my face is sore from smiling! BTW Ray H. really liked the colors & thought they did a beautiful job.

switching from b/w to color just takes a push on the "ANGLE" button & it switches on the fly. I have the older stanard DVD with Ray & Joe D. & i have seen it dozens of times and the new colorized one looks even better.

I saw this when I was a kid & when Gen Hanley (Morris Ankrum) is being assimilated, It scared the stuffing out of me. For years the lamp on the bedroom clg used to look at me funny, there was a face u only saw in the darkness...........BOOOH!

Thats what I get for watching 4 creature features & Dr Shock 2x every weekend!

Color looks great as does pic quality at 1080 max res & this & Forbidden Planet BluRay are on my list for the next Amazon shopping trip.

They never looked like they were wearing metal garbage cans. Their helmets were convincing ellipsoids and had an unmistakably alien "look".

I have one complaint, which probably has more to do with my DVD player than it does the disc in question: while playing it, every minute to minute-and-a-half, the "angle" artifact keeps reappearing in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, as part of the disc's feature that one can 'angle' between B&W and color versions at any point during the film. It's annoyingly distracting.

The artifact keeps appearing because of the disc's protection scheme: although there are two film files on the disc, each one alternates color/B&W; neither is all one thing or the other. When playing the 'color' version of the film, the player jumps back and forth between the two files. Normally, the transition ought to be unnoticeable, but my player notes each transition by displaying the 'angle' artifact.

Apart from that, I like the job they did; the color's good.

Memory says, I did that. Pride replies, I could not have done that. Eventually, memory yields.

Fake color imposed upon black-and-white movies is wrong. If that statement makes me a troll, then I'm proud to be a troll. I take satisfaction in the knowledge that I am right and you, if you like colorization, are wrong.

I suspect you say that to many people - ironically missing the fact that you are the country wide distributor of dumb..
