This movie is terrible, not from a cinematic viewpoint but certainly from a scientific one!
I wouldn't normally mind this but the movie itself introduced science and pretended to be using concepts actually based in science.
Despite this practically all of the technobabble in this movie is just that - pure and utter nonsense.

Made-up technobabble does not mean a movie is bad. Star Trek and Star Wars are full of it. It doesn't really matter. What are important are the character development, dialogue, and plot, all of which are excellent in "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers".

It's simply a product of it's time.

Today's movies and TV shows use "correct" science - that is, science that's as correct as our understanding at this point in our evolution will allow.

If humans still exist in the next century, they'll be laughing and commenting on how silly and naive our current crop of sci-fi is with regard to our "science", much of which will be proved to be pure and utter nonsense...
