I hear... Luanne (Brittany Murphy, King of the Hill) doing the EXACT same voice. Cameron Diaz's karaoke scene also sounds just like Marilyn singing in the bar. Coincidence? Homage?

I saw this movie again last night, and I agree completely. Brittany Murphy must have seen this movie and used it as her model of a southern accent.
