black magic

OK...in all honesty I LOVE Marilyn Monroe and I think she has a beautiful voice but out of all the songs that she sings..Black Magic didn't sound too good to me. I did't know if she was trying to sing in a southern accent or what...but I was not impressed by her singing in this movie.

The bad singing was intentional for the role. Cherie had no talent, or at best had not yet attained any talent. The way she stumbles around while performing her song shows the same lack of experience.

ya, it was just for the role. i LOVE this song though! i have it on my ipod lol and i listen to it all the time...i just love it.

The audience was supposed to be impressed at how BAD Cherie was! Why her dreams of "goin' to Hollywood!' were absurd.

As we all know, Monroe herself had a very good voice.

This kind of comment floors me. Yes, Monroe was an excellent singer. Unless you have seen only one Monroe film, it's called acting.
