For a 50-year old...
Joan Crawford had a great body! Watching the "From Here To Eternity"-styled beach scene with her and Cliff (he was 15 years younger than her when it was filmed), was pretty sexy.

I know!
I just got finished watching this movie, and I was thinking how amazing she looked in that black one-piece. I knew she was born in 1905, so I did the math and learned that she had to be 50/51 in this. Sure, it didn't look like Meghan Fox or Beyoncé or whoever, but I sure haven't seen a 50 year old look like that.
"After all, TOMORROW is ANOTHER DAY"
I too thought she wore well for a fifty year old. That beach scene too reminded me of the famous scene in "From Here to Eternity".
shareIronically, Joan was originally intended to be cast in From Here To Eternity, instead of Kerr. However, her diva demands (she wanted a say over who directed) caused the producers to pass. I'm sure she kicked herself in the ass for missing out on this opportunity. As for her figure, Joan was fastidious in her dieting and workout regimen. She had decent legs well into her 60s.
shareThat beach scene was clearly a rip-off of From Here to Eternity.

Made just three years prior to this film.
shareHowever, her diva demands (she wanted a say over who directed)
She was 18 years older than Robertson, and looked great. If it hadn't been for too much makeup and the severe haircut, she would have been gorgeous.

When the movie was filmed, in the late summer and autumn of 1955, Crawford was fifty-one. Robertson had his thirty-second birthday during the shoot.
