Original Hi-Fi record soundtrack

I have an original soundtrack in good condition, does anyone know how much it could bring? Not that I want to sell it. I'm a fan of the movie and it serves as a great collector's item. Just curious about the value
Thank you

I have the CD which sounds even better. It was a very popular LP in it's day. Victor Young's musical score was brilliant and remains one of the best things about the film. The original recording was outstanding for it's day, and sounds even better today. Might still be available...

The LP in good condition probably isn't worth more than £15, but who knows, on ebay you could get a good deal more if there is demand. I have an original reel to reel tape of the soundtrack that is rather extraordinary. The Todd-AO studios where the sound was mixed was and is one of the finest houses in the business. Particularly in the 50's, there was a great deal of time and finesse put into the sound mix that has been lost on younger generations. This is truly one of the best sounding films of all time. This comes through both on the original magnetic soundtrack as well as the LP's and Tapes that were so popular and still are.

Thanks for your comments adamgarrie. I found the CD, quite by chance, in a record store. It sounds great and probably comes very close to the reel to reel tape you have. I know that some analog recordings lose their luster when tranferred to digital, but the engineers appear to have done the right thing on this one. Still nice to listen to once in a while, although the movie looks pretty dated today. Yes, those stereo recordings of the 50's & 60's were very well done. Unlike many of the "dry" digital recordings of today, it was "in your face, full bodied" music...!
