He plays a police inspector or something. Wasn't he also the trucker pulled from his cab and beaten during the Rodney King L.A. riots?

Same name and there the similarity ends. He was the property manager in Rebecca, to name another Best Picture.

Reginald Denny, the 30-something year old guy from the LA riots also was the star of a movie that was made 40 years earlier.
