THE MUFFED CONVERSATION....!!

Does anyone know that exact muffed conversation that Van Johnson (Phillip Hannon) overheard when he was in the Eagle bar? Since all the dvd versions are without subtitles (no consideration for heard-of-hearing audience {you morons!!}) I could not fully grasp
what he heard!! I would greatly appreciate it if someone can write the whole conversation.

The use of the pinball machine and the muffled conversation were intended to confuse the viewer as much as Hannon, a nice touch. The dialog on Hannon's taped recording reveals what he heard bit by bit. His realization of what it all meant also comes to him bit by bit, thus keeping the suspense going.
