They lie them and here lie me
What does this verse from the book mean?
Under the spreading chestnut tree I sold you and you sold me: There lie they, and here lie we Under the spreading chestnut tree.

Well, I just finished the novel this afternoon (and am now, as can be expected, depressed!!) and I believe that this verse refers to the mutual betrayal of Winston and Julia. "Here lie we/Under the spreading chestnut tree" may refer to the first time that they made love, which was amidst the trees, and the phrase "I sold you and you sold me" probably refers to the fact that Winston betrayed ("sold") Julia, and vice versa. Also, "The Chestnut Tree" was, I believe, the name of the cafe in which Winston is sitting at the end of the book.
Hope this helped, considering that I myself am no expert on Orwell! :)
