I just finished watching this because I'm kind of on a Bogie kick. I read the plot of this and thought it sounded pretty stupid, but I watched anyway because I had already rented the movie. Wow, was I surprised, it was cute, silly, and heartwarming. Sure it was slightly ridiculous in its plot, but in no way did it ruin the fact that it was a nice family movie, and just all around wonderful.
shareI agree; it's so hilarious from start to finish. It's nice to see a bunch of tough guys be funny without losing their machismo. And the ending is probably the most satisfying ending it could be.
shareDidn't even know it existed until one day, recently, when I saw it listed. I thought I was tuning in to the Sean Penn/Robert DiNero flick. At first, I was disappointed to see that it wasn't the film I intended to see but as I watched, I became glued to the screen. It's just a nice movie.

It's absolutely the most adorable movie that I have ever seen where a cute little venomous snake kills two people at Christmas then gets a halo at the end. It's hilarious, for sure, but it's really a very black comedy.
I agree. it is very funny but I'm not sure that 'cute' and 'adorable' are quite the words i would choose to describe it.
