This is one of three movies that I love. Watched them as a child and continue to rewatch and recommend. Other two are Harvey with Jimmy Stewart and Arsenic and Old Lace with Carey Grant.

Crooks and Coronets has a Somewhat similar plot. two crooks infiltrate the home of an eccentric elderly aristocrat with the intention of robbing her, but end up getting to like her.
shareMentioning "coronets" makes me think of Kind Hearts and Coronets, with Alec Guinness playing multiple roles in a dark but very funny comedy, as a lowly Brit murders his way to an inheritance.
shareOh yes, Kind Hearts and Coronets is one of my faves. The light dialogue counterpoint to the dark comedy. Definitely a must watch.
