Are there edits of this, since Wiki write-up doesn't match

I just watched this and then read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia and there are major and obvious (plot-altering) differences. How can that be? Did the Wiki author just badly misremember the film, or are there alternate versions out there? Or the the Wikipedia entry writer(s) remembering the play?

The description provided with the movie I saw said it was a 'version' which would mean there must also be other versions. It's been well over a year since your post so the info on Wiki may have been updated. When I looked at it, it matched the movie version I saw.
