Btw, Betsy Palmer reminds me of Kelly Osbourne in this movie, in terms of looks.
shareRanald MacDougall, a good screenwriter, seemed to have no idea what he was doing as a director, and the young lady who played the neice was mediocre at best. But Crawford sells it with her exquisite bitchery.
Christina said this was the one film she couldn't watch because Joan was actually playing herself.
I'd like to have seen how the film turned out with a more polished director, though.
