I know this sounds strange, but did anyone pick up things that happened in this movie to Peyton Place? Its strange, but the scenery, the actors remind me a lot of that movie. Things like the opening of both movies, one with an up and coming principal of Peyton Place, the other in a moving train. There were trains used in both openings. Then think about this, the principal of P.P stopped and washed up in the town diner, William Holden washes up in the river.

Then the scene of Selena Cross's house, the scene of the Potts house. Things that are adressed like sexuality in both girls, Alison McKenizie, and Susan Strasberg........ Things like the scene in the river with Bill Holden and Kim, and theres the scene with Rodney and his girlfriend at the lake in Peyton Place where they both swam nude. The maid and the Kim Novaks mother are the same woman. The looks of both leading men in the movies are both handsome and buff.......

There are many many similiarities, these were just a few...
