Please double check your tv guide for the time in your area. I didn't care for this one either when I saw it but many people have liked it so I am posting it for you to watch and decide.

FYI, if you go to tcm.com, type Picnic in its search box, you'll get a page for the movie. Next to the scheduled showtimes you can request an e-mail reminder. Two will be sent--one, seven days before, the second, 24 hours before.
They'll show it in letterbox and I want to burn it to DVD. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't seen your post. Thanks for the heads-up!
My take: It's a poignant slice of 1950s Americana. Gorgeous cinematography, terrific performances and that glorious soundtrack. Holden and Novak dancing to Moonglow/Theme from Picnic. Classic.
