I was surprised to hear this news--and shocked that he was 88! I liked just about everything Cliff Robertson appeared in!

the only principal actor from the movie who is still alive is Kim Novak - the rest are gone including susan strasberg

This is a bit off topic but a movie that was made more recently has a thread like this--It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. There were 20 or so major stars in that movie and now there are about 3 left. It's amazing because their looks and youth are cemented in film while the rest of us just get older.
