Fine, FINE Palominos in this movie
The Waggoman family sure had some fine horseflesh. Father and son both rode gorgeous Palominos. Even the ranch hands rode good stock. It's nice when they take care to use the very best in movies.

shareMost large ranches in Texas and NM kept well bred Remuda's when you made your living on horseback you wanted good horses under you.
Now later during the time of the large ranches especially in Montana the cowboys would pull 2 and 3 year olds from the mustang herds to use on their ranches, while "retiring" the older horses back into the herds.
Another interesting thing about ranch cowboys they mostly rode mares, you had a mare with a good head, once bred the foal would be of similar temperament to the mare.
