A great Western


and well worth watching. Kirk Douglas is fantastic in it.

The acting of Kirk Douglas and Jeanne Crain were the only positives from Man Without a Star. William Campbell was alright as the comic character but was not up to par dramatically compared to Douglas or Crain. After a while Man Without a Star went off into a tangent of melodrama which left elements unresolved (the relationship between Dempsey and Reed) and underdeveloped (Jeff and Tess getting together at the end without much build up to their relationship).

I thought Kirk was so over the top in the humor parts it was distracting.
