A fascinating film - well worth sticking with (get past the accents "Lorst" etc) - a very rare load of colour location film in London and around, full of interesting small details )Walls banana flavoured "Gaytime" ice-cream), Barbara Windsor in an early appearance etc)
It's a haunting picture of alost world. A minor classic and wonderful to see what the 50s really looked like.

On UK TV today, and I liked the colour as opposed to the black and white so often used for 1950's London. It had a fresh look instead of the foggy, dirty and greyish bleak image usually associated with 1950's London films.
Watched it myself. I was a kid in the 50s and seeing all the old cars,coaches and adverts etc brought back so many memories.
Glad to see the now familiar actors and actresses in bit part roles--Dandy NIcholls,Barbara Windsor and Everley Gregg(Brief Encounter),Thora Hurd etc
