It's not uncommon to find that songs/music used to promote films have nothing to do with the movie. Examples that come to mind are about 10 years old, but Won't Get Fooled Again played in the TV ad for American Beauty, and in the trailer for Antz I saw at the cinema, the music of North By Northwest was used. A more recent example may be Where The Wild Things Are. I didn't see the film but I'd be surprised if Arcade Fire's Wake Up made an appearance.
I've noticed a lot of ads for TV shows play some random new song with the title & artist appearing in the corner of the screen; this bit of double advertising is annoying.
The Lady & the Tramp reverses my earlier examples, in that the film is old, the music new. What annoys me is the idea that Peggy Lee herself can't sell the movie. It reminds me of those awful sanitised "pop" versions of Beauty & The Beast, A Whole New World and some of the songs in The Lion King.
