The Siamese cats were a insult to left wing posh type artists.

If you look at who owned Siamese cat's when this movie came out, who was making them popular, it was definitely no mistake they were cast as the jerks in this movie.

The type of person who would own a cat like this in 55 was intellectual, urban and progressive as well as left leaning by todays or yesterdays standards.

It is very interesting to me to think of what these cats, as well as other icons of this era, really mean to people making the product, oppose to what we think of it iconically.

This is a new idea between me and a friend, so I will not say I am fully convinced of the implications of the images, but I am sure there is more at play than we think.

Please chime in with any ideas or contributions, or please flame with style.
