Were the stray dogs going to rape Lady?

I remember reading somewhere that they were chasing her because they knew she was in heat. Also, that she and Tramp did in fact do it on top of the hill, and that Jock and Trusty proposed to her because they knew she was pregnant and wanted to protect her good name, since in the era the film took place in, premarital sex was socially unacceptable. Lots of things you miss as a kid.

Lol, yep...looking at it from an adult perspective, there are a lot of mature undertones that you were unable to fully grasp as a kid. Jock's & Trusty's reasons for proposing are definitely implied in the film, and we have to assume that the puppies were conceived that night on the hilltop. As for the gang of "bully" dogs wanting to rape Lady because she was in heat...of course, to most kids/people they're just going to look like a bunch of aggressive, mean dogs attacking a poor, helpless small one. But realistically, male dogs chasing a female in heat and wanting to mate with her is totally believable. They LOOK angry and aggressive as though they really just intended to attack her. But either way--whether they wanted to beat her up, tear her apart, or mate with her--Tramp surely saved her from a mighty unfortunate fate. xD;
