That was mean of them to treat lady that way when they found out darling was pregnant. Just because your pregnant that dont mean u stop taking care of your dog you already have! Jim was rude saying "I worry about u all day here walking THAT DOG!" And darling knitting instead of walking lady. That aint right! Then she hit lady when all she wanted was to play!

Oh theydidnt, goodness gracious. She was used to attention so when you're having a baby, yeah that's all you can think of! Now I don't think they actually stopped walking her or playing with her altogether cause that's just ridiculous, but they couldn't focus all their attention on her anymore like she was used to. One thing I love about this movie though is how they capture a dogs perspective perfectly, the confusion at some things us humans do.

Lady was still fine and healthy. She was well fed, obviously physically healthy.
The only problem was she was used to all the attention in the house, and with a baby, that's just not possible.
But it's obvious she was not neglected.
