Singing voices

At least one source claimed that Sterling Holloway (a.k.a. "Winnie the Pooh", "Kaa", "Roquefort", etc.) also did the singing voice for Jock the Scottish terrier (when we first see him burying bones). However, if you ask me, the singing sounds an awful lot like Bill Thompson (who ALSO did Jock's speaking voice).

Also of interest, did George Givot and/or Bill Thompson (again) do their own singing as Tony and Joe during the "Bella Notte" sequence? Or was it Bill Hamlin and Oliver Wallace doing the singing? (Hamlin and Wallace are credited as performing the song on the "Disney: A Legacy in Song" CD...)

Some help on this would be appreciated...

Not really sure who did the singing early on when Jock first appears, and I don't even know or have looked to see if it is mentioned on here, or even on the soundtrack page. And was it common even through to have a different person do the singing for a character if the person that does his or her voice can't sing, or doesn't have a type of singing voice that the producers are looking for. Like either a tenor or a baritone. But for the sound track for Bella Notte they mention the names George Givot & Studio Chorus. So George Givot did the singing for Tony, I really have to watch the scene again, but I don't believe Joe sung at all in that scene.

When it gets to the part of "So... this is the night/And the Heavens are right..." You can hear a second voice joining Tony. I assume that voice is Bill Thompson's, since Joe joins Tony at that moment.

To be honest with you I haven't watched the movie or heard the song in quite some time, but assuming you are correct, and you know it can't be Lady or Tramp singing when they are too busy feeding themselves.
