THOSE GOD-DAMN CATS

I'm not here to debate obvious racism
I'm here instaed to debate whether or not those Siamese Cats were the scariest *beep* thing you ever saw as a kid
BECAUSE THEY WERE FOR ME

When I was a kid, I saw this movie, and every time the Siamese Cat song was about ot begin, I'd jam the fast-forward button into the TV to skip it as quickly as I could
The song itself had a creepy beat, but it's the animation of the damn cats that got me. They were like fat and thin at the same time, and at first all you see is two pairs of glowing eyes and two tails in a basket. Then they pop out, and yeah, they get less creepy at that point, but when you first see them, god-damn they're frightening!
I want to clarify I'm 19, but I still find those cats just damn creepy. Is anyone else the same? I can't be alone in thinking those damn cats were just freakishly creepy.

Back in about 1970 I distinctly remember feeling a similar way about the cats. Freaked out scared of them.

reply

I can totally understand that, but they never really bothered me...well, other than for being infuriatingly ill-behaved and practically evil! x_x I guess my obsession with this movie in particular kinda desensitized me to anything I might otherwise have found scary.

I'm watching the movie right now and just finished that scene and was thinking the whole time how damn creepy those cats and that song were. I'm 30 by the way and I was still creeped out by it.

Dragonzord! Mastodon! Pterodactyl! Triceratops! Saber Toothed Tiger! Tyrannosaurus!

reply

As far as I can remember they never bothered me.

reply

They don't only look creepy, they also sound creepy! Everything about them was creepy!

reply

Yeah, I already mentioned on another thread that I was creeped out by those cats as a kid.

I don't think so, Tim.

I'm 39 and watching with a four-year-old, and those cats creeped me out so bad as a kid that my sisters and I used to tease one another about them. Think about their broken English, and that music and their dance (shudders)! Ugh!

Btw, I forgot all about them until twenty minutes into the movie when I exclaimed "Oh, no! The 'bleeping' cats! I forgot about those 'bleeping' cats!"

I was quite upset. I might have nightmares tonight...

~I am defying gravity, and soon I'll match them in renown...

They looked more like rats than cats. They acted more like them too!
