One of the worst Godzilla movies
At least I think.
shareWhich was worse in your opinion this one or the 1998 remake?
sharein my opinion, godzilla's revenge was the absolute worse. i remember seeing it as a kid, i don't even remember exactly why i hated it just that i hated it.
"Hating on haters is a form of Hatin!"
It's not really a Godzilla movie as much as it is an eight-year-old kid's dream of what a Godzilla movie would be. But actually, the movie does have a certain charm as the fantasies of a lock-key boy left alone way too much and bullied by his schoolmates.
shareMy candidate for worst Godzilla movie: GODZILLA vs MEGALON.
shareI really enjoy this movie and bought 4 copies of the DVD. The plot structure is bizarre to say the least and the changes made by Warner Brothers seem deranged but I just love this movie for some reason.
shareGodzilla vs Gigan gets my vote for the worst.
shareIt was okay. Not my favorite of the series that I've seen so far, but not so bad it's unwatchable.
Death lives in the Vault of Horror!
I agree. I don't care for this one. I've never seen the Japanese version, but the English dub is awful. The voice acting is really bad and the constant narration drives me crazy.
shareThe Japanese version lacks that narraration...thank God. While not up to the original GODZILLA the Japanese version of GODZILLA RAIDS AGAIN is still reasonably serious and somber.

The first half isn't bad. Aside from the literal visual recap, where they actually put in videos from the first movie to 'remember what happened'. But the atmosphere and introduction to the monsters was fine. The main battle in the middle was pretty decent albeit hyper-fast in places (apparently they used a different technique that was never used again because of this). But man the whole second half of this film really goes nowhere.Hunting for Godzilla, talking about Godzilla, thin character story arcs, and then godzilla standing still for the last twenty minutes as people shoot at snow.I mainly respect it for not being too cheesy, plus because of the b/w it's still somewhat visually plausible. After this it's all cheesy and obviously fake effects but more memorable characters and stories. Koalas are telepathic. Plus, they control the weather.
