Refrigerated railcars....

So disillusioning. According to Wikipedia, ice-cooled rail cars were in wide spread use in America by the 1880s. Putting aside the great acting and intriguing story, what a lousy sham of a film!

I haven't seen the movie, but in the novel, it tells how Adam researched refrigerated cars. His idea was to use them to ship produce all the way to the East Coast.
