Turner Classic Movies

I have never seen this movie until right now. What a wonderful movie! James Dean had that magic that only comes along every now and then. He was like a beautiful shining star that burned out way too soon.

I caught it today after wanting to see it for some time....I've got to say, after all the great things I've heard about it, I was not impressed. James Dean the "icon" is a very recognizable figure and I know he only made a few movies. Before today, the only thing I'd seen of his was Rebel...didn't see the excitement about that one either, but I feel it was better than EOE..I don't know, I'm not seeing the hype. Yes, he was good looking, and I think that is 95% of the reason we're still seeing him as a representative of his time. It truly is a shame that his life ended before he had a chance to develop fully in his acting career though. I would like to watch this again, because I feel like you have to watch a movie at least twice to get the real feel..this first viewing just couldn't keep my attention. (I know a lot of James Deaners will beg to differ, but I stand by my opinion..lol)
