when I first saw this movie with my mum I was rocketed out of my seat by the noise of the engines firing in space..
but the scene which showed a cast member finding plant life was my first look at lifes beauty

food consumed by the crew was in pill form
I think today it is not so cool an idea
as good food is considered natural
an idea for some nutrition would be wafer thin
placed on the tongue would melt
Food pills were one of those science-fiction ideas that never made sense. Why would human beings want to give up life's SECOND greatest pleasure -- namely eating?
All the universe . . . or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?
not to give it up
but just to save life
you have to have been
on a survival course to
see that..
Still not a practical idea. To sustain life, a person has to consume a minimum bulk of proteins, carbohydrates and fats, plus vitamins and minerals. Who wants to swallow a pound or two of pills every day? You can survive on today's concentrated military field rations -- and they actually taste pretty good.
All the universe . . . or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?
No no no... you guys got it all wrong. It wasn't to save life... it was to save space. Pills weigh less than food, and take up less area.
