Unfinished episode?

Just finished watching this, was surprised there wasn't a follow up episode where Matt went after the men and horses.

what was the name of the ep?...

...or at least, can you elaborate?

Smoke me a kipper. I'll be back for breakfast

By the detailed description  it sounds like Thoroughbreds (1958).

LOL, I knew that since I had written a review back in 2013 and arrived at the same conclusion.

Definitely. That's my favorite of the half hours. I think as mad as Matt was at being taken like that, having them get away with it, and knowing his reputation as most viewers do, it was implied and sort of safe to assume that he wouldn't have stopped until he got them. I kind of liked the way they ended ended that one, as well as the idea that Matt, for a change, isn't infallible.

Speaking of Thoroughbreds, that main (Tank Murdock) guy's line of "You take up a lot of space..." while Matt was standing in front of his horse was classic "a-hole cowboy" material. Good a-hole cowboy dialog is a hallmark of good westerns. They're more real than regular TV and movie bad guys, as they're not only dangerous (and lethal), they're jerks.

reply

True. Some of the most clever a-hole dialog was written for westerns and film noir smartasses.
