The sex life of Cheyenne Bodie

The question is -- did he have a sex life? Of course, on 1950s television, you couldn't show Cheyenne banging away at a dance-hall girl, but you get the impression Cheyenne never did such a thing. His relations with all the women on the show seem completely "chaste." Do we assume he lived like a monk? Or was he gay? Or was he just very very discreet?

Actually, in "The Outlanders" (season one), there's a pretty strong implication that Cheyenne availed himself of the services of Cora Culver (Doris Dowling) in her past life as a whore in Montana. And in season three's "The Gamble," there are hints that his past relationship with saloon owner Robbie James (the great Evelyn Ankers in her second-to-last role) was a mutually fulfilling sexual one.

So my conclusion is that Bodie is neither gay nor "a monk" -- and possibly not even that discreet.

Cheyenne was the strong, silent type - a gentleman, but yet a REAL man in every sense, with regards to his desires.

I would venture to guess that he heartily enjoyed his pleasures with women, but kept silent about discussing the details of his bedroom escapades!

There's a good chance he banged Peggie Castle in "Fury at Rio Hondo." The scene faded out while the two were sharing a passionate kiss. It could have easily gone further. Walker and Castle had some real chemistry in that episode. I wish they'd made her character a recurring one.

as a matter of fact, just the opposite, he was scoring like a wild man. The chicks were hitting on him like he was candy. They would show him in her room, then kiss, then the next shot was morning..lol. He was a shagaholic baby, yeah!!...lol.

I think it's safe to assume that on many a lonely night by the campfire, Cheyenne pleasured himself via Rosie Thumb and her four daughters.

I have done miss Rosie myself and if she is good enough for me, she is good enough for my boy Cheyenne.

It's a TV show for god's sake! Why would you even care!!!? They also didn't show Cheyenne having a bowel moment but was it necessary for it to be shown??? Come on!!

reply

I think you are way off. He was always interested and appeared to be very sucessful with many women..

Right. You understood there was or will be a very brief relationship. In "Star in the Dust" Claire Du Pas had money on the mind. And when she thought Cheyenne had the stolen bank loot, she made a very bold offer. And you had the impression Cheyenne accepted the offer as the scene faded to black.

Could be mistaken... but found that during the first season, when Roy Huggins was involved in script writing Cheyenne had more friends with benefits.

In "The Trap" Iris came into Cheyennes room at night (after she had him released). And the discussion was not about saving herself for Marriage *wink.

Cheyenne showed interest in several women, but the important thing about him that makes him unique from other men (then and now), is that he was more interested in their character than their bodies. As soon as he discovered that she was devious in any way, or dishonost , he dumped her!

Just watched "The Imposter". There's some instant heavy flirting (with sexual implications, as much as you could at the time) between Bodie and the lawyer's secretary.

I have to say that i just "discovered" this TV show due to a neighbor. Being born in 1955, it was a drop before my time to have seen originally. I love the show! Recording every one on the Western channel, to be viewed when i get the chance.
I'm as straight as they come, but i think i'm in love with Cheyenne Bodie LOL. Just kidding. Well, i think if i was a woman, I'd be grabbing at the TV screen! He's a good actor too, this Clint Walker!

There certainly was a lot of innuendo between the secretary and Cheyenne. I found it interesting, historically that there was a female in the office of such an important man. Females, didn't have careers, unless you were a "lady of the evening", which was a career. But, then we wouldn't have enjoyed seeing Kasey Rogers (Louise Tate of Bewitched) bewitch Cheyenne, either. Enjoy!

Cheyenne didn't romance a lass every episode--he wasn't Hugh Hefner but he left his spurmarks on many a bedpost. Definitely wasn't gay, 'cause he never showed any interest in guys.
