Judas Basin?

Just curious, but what is the general opinion on "Duel at Judas Basin"?

I've just watched it...it's okay, but not one of my favorites.

I find Bronco sort of smarmy...Brewster is alright, but very "ah shucks"...reminds me of Chester on Gunsmoke without the charm.

The whole episode seemed forced to me, which I guess makes sense--the network was obviously trying to tie all three shows together as part of the "Cheyenne Show."

I thought CW's turn as Cheyenne, guesting on that episode of "Maverick" was handled better....more like a cameo, instead of trying to shoehorn a guest character into the main character's orbit for an entire episode.

Clints cameo on that episode of Maverick.... was a clip from a Cheyenne episode ..wish it had been a walk on by Clint.

Duel at Judas Basin was an effort at stunt casting.

From what I recall, I'd say about the same--I thought the episode was OK, but not one of my favorites. It wasn't hard to figure out what Ty Hardin's role would turn out to be.

It would have been less forced with just Cheyenne and Sugarfoot, but obviously Warner Brothers wanted all three in the same show.

Hutchins writes a monthly column for a great online site called Western Clippings that is quite entertaining. Many of his columns are recollections of actors he worked with.

For instance, he writes this about Clint Walker: "Why, his abs have abs. Worked out with him once. He had put together a make-shift gym in the backlot in a dusty shed, brought his own weights. He took off his shirt—Cinemascope shoulders—he looked like a hairy wall. I kept my shirt on—never went back."
