shareThey have been advertising between movies that in January they will have Laredo, Gunsmoke, and Rawhide in their lineup and I was wondering what series would be replaced.
shareAs it stands now, there are three series in the AM, Cheyenne, Maverick and Lawman. Then in the afternoon The Virginian, Wagon Train, Have Gun Will Travel and Gunsmoke. Dismayed they couldn't keep the morning line up.
As it stands now the afternoon line-up is as follows (all times are EST):
2:00-2:30pm Lawman
2:30-3:00pm Have Gun Will Travel
3:00-4:00pm Laredo
4:00-5:00pm Wagon Train (note time change)
5:00-6:00pm Rawhide
6:00-6:30pm Marshall Matt Dillon
6:30-7:00pm Marshall Matt Dillon
These are the very early 1/2 episodes prior to Gunsmoke becoming a full hour
7:00-8:00pm Gunsmoke
I just saw that and I'm bummed, too. At the same time, I feared it was coming since Cheyenne and Maverick had been moved to the early-morning slots and also moved to the Retroplex channel.
I've been recording as many of the episodes I like as possible, but I have a couple DVDs with glitches, so I'm missing a few episodes.
The Virginian being dropped surprised me the most. I think it's only been on Encore Westerns for 2 years or less.
I, too was surprised by The Virginian being dropped. I guess they were only allowed to air the series a certain number of times.
Looks like they are showing all TV series in the afternoons and won't be showing any western movies except for late mornings and then in the evenings during the week.
shareIt's a shame to see Cheyenne go. Rawhide should be interesting though. I'm interested in seeing the half an hour episodes of Gunsmoke as well. I've seen the first twenty or so. They're more entertainin than the hour long episodes, in my humble opinion anyway.
