Good choices, especially John Garfield. He's almost forgotten today but was an excellent actor.

Mickey Rooney was great.I rate him as one of the most energetic actors I have seen on screen alongside Gene Kelly and the Nicholas Bros.He was also very good in serious roles as well.
Sandra Bullock is a Honey and Robert Mitchum is a Man's Man.
As for today's stars,I rate Tom Hanks and Steve Martin very highly.

reply

Aah, Tom hanks.....perhaps the most likeable man in the world. And Steve martin, I miss him. Like me, he must be getting older, and tireder.

I also really like Eric Bana for pure acting skills.

Hi again, long time no see, how's things.
I found this old thread and thought I'd add that I am, these days, very taken with the acting abilities of Philip Seymour Hoffman. John Hurt is also one actor whose very presence in a film will lead me to watch it.

Regards.
