One of the best episodes that I've ever seen is S5 E13 'The Greater Glory'. I own the whole set and I've seen them a number of times. I always think the same thing, it's the best episode ever!! I like 'The Conspirators', but that's because I enjoy Clint Walker singing. I can't think of the worst one yet. I'm sure it will come to mind and I'll add another reply. KAS

I am back to list two more of my favorite episodes. It is really hard to decide favorites amongst them since I like them all.
S3 E19-Noose at Noon; the tension that is built really works well.
S3 E20-The Angry Sky (with Andrew Duggan who is a favorite) fall into the favorite category. Still haven't been able to decide on a worst episode. KAS

Worst:

The sheep herder episode with Robert Wilke and Marie Windsor

Not ashamed to admit, I really liked that episode. But Robert Wilke is one of my more favorite supporting actors, and this episode had a fair amount of humor in it. So I'm likely biased.

I also enjoyed the 2-part story Gold, Glory, and Custer.

The Empty Gun sounds a lot like the episode The Idol, where a former gunfighter, Ben Shelby, was tormented by the death of a young boy during one of his gunfights. His right hand had become pretty much useless as a result.

Was the John Russel episode the one where he tied the gun to his hand with a piece of string?
