Who Was Your Favorite Character On The Show
Mine was by far and still is Mr. Moose. PING PONG BALLS!!!
shareMine was by far and still is Mr. Moose. PING PONG BALLS!!!
shareThis is a tough one but I'll go with Mr. Greenjeans. He was always so nice. I loved Mr. Moose and the ping pong balls. They were all so good. Wish we could get this one released.
shareSomething doesn't seem right, I thought Mr. Green Jeans was a permanent character on the show but it only shows him as 21 appearances. I could have sworn he was on the show in the early 70s when I was little.
shareIMDB is notorious for getting the count wrong. I've seen it happen many times. It seems to me that Mr. Green Jeans was on almost every day!
shareYes, that can't be right because it only shows Bob Keeshan being in only 136 episodes and I'm pretty sure THAT'S not right!
shareIt says CK was 242 episodes
shareCK aired for almost 30 years, five days a week, and while there were occasions when it was pre-empted (for holiday parades, etc.) I don't think they ever reran episodes although segments from past episodes were probably used to flesh out a few shows so the final total of episodes would be way over 242. The thing is records for daytime television in past decades were rarely kept; I'd imagine most of the confirmed episodes were due to guest stars and their publicity files. IMDb now has the total up to 326 but that's still way off given well over 200 should have been filmed each year.

We called the custodian at our school, Mr. Green Jeans, for some unknown reason. He would answer to it.
Mr. Greenjeans
shareWow haven't heard all these names in awhile. I remember Mr Green Jeans he was a thin guy and would never have guessed until my older sister told me it was because he wore green overalls. Sounds he was a favorite of many, mine too. Here's one not mentioned - Grandfather Clock, I think he was always asleep until the Captain spoke to him (he slept a lot because he was a grandfather). Did the Captain show a little cartoon? I thought it might be Crusader Rabbit but I think that was a separate show. And was there another puppet besides Bunny Rabbit? I think he had a carrot lol.
