couples with no kids

this series reminds me of the film noir genre of movies. it was rare to see a couple in the 1950s who didn't have kids but it was common in AHP and film noir movies.

I can't think of a single episode with children. Even The Babysitter clearly had a child, but we never saw him.

Could just be the nature of the stories and Hitchcock wanting to appeal to that very adult aspect of the audience enjoying a good murder. Putting a child in the story, would remind the audience that people who have children should never do the things they do.

good point. kids are just in the way.

There's was an episode called "bang, your dead" with Billy Mumy. He accidentally takes his uncles gun all around town thinking it was a fake gun. Great episode. There was also an episode of the Alfred Hitchcock hour with Ed Asner called "To catch a butterfly" and a child was the main focus.

there were a few. not many.

Bang, You're Dead. I vaguely remember that one. And the one with the kid who grew mushrooms. Yikes! There were some, where the kids were the main focus. I guess, I am thinking of episodes that if they had husband or wife doing something criminal, they were childless.

"A Crime for Mothers" and "A Man Greatly Beloved" both had a little girl in the episode. But children are the exception to the rule in this series.
