Now Playing....

The series just began airing on the Retro TV Network. They're only on the seventh episode, but I'm already hooked.

Yes, I've seen a couple of episodes this week and I saw one last night with the great Ian Hunter as Sir Richard. It looks like a fun series and has a sense of humor. Was this on American TV back in the day, because I don't remember it from my childhood? There was a Mel Brooks version called "When Things Were Rotten" back in the 1970's but it didn't last long, maybe 2 seasons. However it was quite funny. I look forward to seeing the rest of these episodes.

Yes, this was on American TV from 1955-1960. I remember it quite vividly from my childhood. It was one of my favorite shows. Some of the guest stars, who were child actors at the time, pop up as "old timers" now in shows like Dr. Who, etc.

I had to double check my facts. I was specifically referring to Jane Asher, who was in The Sarah Jane Adventures, and her brother Peter Asher (Peter and Gordon).

If it was on ABC then I probably missed it because we didn't have ABC because it was UHF and our old TV didn't have a UHF dial LOL. I was born in 1953 so I would have been young but I remember other shows from that time like Lassie and Perry Mason. We were a big CBS family--I don't remember watching much of NBC and of course we didn't have ABC.

ETA: I looked up info on the entry for this show and it was on CBS from 55-58 so I was probably too young to remember it. I'm surprised it wasn't on Saturday morning TV or something.
