Johnny's Jacket
Anyone know of a company reproducing his jacket, the zipper off to the side with the internal collar...or where I can buy one? 'preciate it

Marlon Brando is wearing the original Perfecto jacket made by Schott Bros.
They are still producing this jacket and many other.
You can check at: http://www.schottnyc.com
If you have any questions, go to the Message Blog on Schotts website.

wow, that site show alot types of jacket that i wish i have it a long time ago.
thanks vlad. i guess i have to save around $700 to buy jackets.
Aero Leather Clothing in Galashields, Scotland do a strictly-to-order perfect reproduction of the Brando motorcycle jacket (I got mine in 1992-still fits !) research, design & patterns for which were originally cut for the Marlon Brando dummy in Madame Tussauds waxworks in London
The Schott Bros Perfecto isn't accurate because the cuff zips (as on cheaper knock-off versions) fall way short of the elbow length on Brando's jacket ...also the Brando jacket had brass coloured zippers/ stids etc, the Schott is all chrome
Not sure how you can tell the zipper and studs are brass in a black and white image. I did find a color promo picture of Brando from the film, and they do look chrome (more likely nickel plated over brass). Of course, plating could wear off, especially if you slid on the pavement a few times. Brando's jacket was well-worn, possible stressed by the wardrobe department to look so.
Agreed that the sleeve zippers are shorter. There was a company called Durable that made almost identical style jackets around that time, and the sleeve zippers were very similar to the Brando jacket, almost to the elbow. There are theories that his jacket was a Durable and not a Schott.
Some say the Brando jacket was actually a Perfecto 613 "One Star", which pre-dated the 618. It was called the One Star because is came with a star on the epaulettes (Just like Brando's jacket). However, the 613 currently sold by Schott doesn't have snaps on the upper collar flap (which Brando's jacket did), but the current 618 does.
I did go to the Aero Leather site, and found the jacket you mentioned...it doesn't have the upper collar flap snaps! That's kind of a major omission. But I do think they got the shape and thickness of the waist belt buckle closer to Brando's jacket compared to Schott's current versions (613/618). Also, the pictures of the Aero version look like they are cut a bit too roomy. The Schott/Brando jacket are more tapered and form-fitting.
One other thing...the 50's Perfectos were supposedly made from horsehide, while the current 618's are steer hide.
BUT - Schott does now offer a horsehide version of the 618! They are shinier than the steer hide, which matches the finish on Brando's jacket much better.
The biker jacket illustrated on the Aero website isn't their Brando jacket. For that you need to see the Madame Tussaud's wax dummy for whom they made an exact reproduction including the collar snaps. The conclusion of the brass colour of the zippers and fasteners come colour stills of the jacket when worn by Brando: chrome would not look brassy in colour.
<www.foxcreekleather.com/> is where you will get what is the best quality and value for money on a Brando - type jacket. Look for the Classic 1. I've got one -- it's beautiful...

Use the trivia section of the site.
Then google it up.
The jacket, exact same model, still exists. The manufacturer has not discontinued the model and even sell the stars to put the epaulets and complete the Brando look.
