This never made Sense *Spoiler*
Betty Haynes is furious at Bob Wallace when she mistakenly thinks that he is out to publicly portray General Waverly on a televised TV show as a poor, pathetic soul in order to garner publicity for He & Phil's Broadway show. She abruptly leaves Bob,Phil,& her sister in Pinetree,VT & takes a job at a nightclub in NYC.Bob meets with her in order to resolve the situation but the misunderstanding just continues & she remains upset.Later on we see her sitting, along with the nightclub managers where she works, watching the Ed Harris show.Bob appears on it & asks that as many men as can that served under General Waverly come to the Columbia Inn on Christmas to surprise & honor him.Betty now realizes that Bob never planned to exploit the general's situation or capitalize upon it to his advantage. But I always found it strange that she would even watch the Ed Harris TV show in the first place. She knew that Bob was going on it & was disgusted with what she thought were his reasons for doing so.Why would she have sat down to see Bob do this awful act, even though she had him wrong?
