I wish somebody would show this --

By somebody, I mean TCM or HDNet - somebody that wouldn't chop it up or stick those ugly logos and ads all over the bottom of the screen.

Are you from the UK? because they show River Of No Return quite a lot on Channels "More4" and "Film4", either that or you can pick up a copy quite cheap on ebay :)

reply

Nope, I'm from USA, and for some reason, this movie is never shown here - but you're right, I should just break down and buy a copy.

reply

Life's good, they're showing it on Fox Movie Channel right now.

reply

Yes, the movie has been shown multiple times on Fox Movie Channel. And, as far as the logos the OP talked about....the broadcasters and rights owners want to protect their broadcast from being recorded with no identification of who is actually broadcasting the movie. So, understand, they have certain rights to protect their material. So, if you record the movie it can be determined where you got it.

reply

Easy to find on DVD on Amazon these days. Cheap.

Now this movie is shown all the time lol which is good, because I love it, just got done watching it on Encore. Encore used to have a really outlandish logo that was non stop in the corner, it was pretty distracting, but now they only flash the logo, like TCM and Fox. I understand the need for the logo, but I like it better when they just flash it periodically rather than have it hover in the corner constantly.

reply

I dropped showtime because of their editing a movie by plastering their logo during the movie. It is a premium channel, which means no editing, and slapping a logo on the screen, even for a few seconds is editing.
HBO's policy at the time was no logo, but I canceled it when I got netflix, so I don't know what they do nowadays for movies, but their sports were messed up by their logo.

reply

You can stream it on Netflix. I checked it out today for the first time and loved it! (03/07/14) Netflix has tons of great older movies to stream or rent (sending the DVD in the mail).

reply

I'm watching it, but it is the last day for streaming until they bring it back.
