Almost ruined it now...

I watch the film once or twice a year, as I show it to my students as an example of 1950s Hollywood "realism". But ever since hearing (or reading) Rod Steiger talk about how much an a-hole Brando was (surprise, surprise) in the back-of-the-car scene, by not sticking around to stand-in at Steiger's shots, I have trouble enjoying that scene.

Well, lubin, years ago I was a friend of Jocelyn Brando and I asked her about that scene and that story by Steiger, and she denied it strongly. IDK the truth, of course, but she was an honest person IMO and was in a good position to know the truth, although maybe her brother had lied to her about it...

I'll be honest...had I not read the trivia or your post, I wouldn't even notice that scene being filmed separately.

If you're not taking any steps forward, you're not moving at all.
